“Feel like you’re in another world (and time) with three landscaped acres that look as if they were transplanted from an English country estate house, with sloping and dropping elms. Then hike through the arching trees and take a seat at the Linden Terrace, one of the highest points in Manhattan, where you’ll be able to gaze across the water at the Hudson River Palisades, which has 20 miles of cliffs that will be covered in vivid copper and orange foliage.” – Time Out New York

Fort Tryon Park is a place of repose for all New Yorkers and out of town guests. Our park is a place for people in the neighborhood to come together, relax, and enjoy nature in a meditative space. We evolve and develop new programming and solutions in response to community and visitor needs. This uniquely landscaped refuge offers a connection to the best of another era via its stone-lined archways and undisturbed views of the Palisades and the Hudson River. The lush landscape is a recreational escape for children and adults alike, an invitation to socialize, exercise, and explore the outdoors.

As one of the highest points in Manhattan, Fort Tryon Park beats skyscrapers for breathtaking views. The 67-acre park has two playgrounds, multiple lawns, the largest public garden in New York, eight miles of meandering paths, more than 550 cultural and recreational programs every year, and a full-service restaurant. As if that weren’t enough – WNYC’s Kevin France calls it a “twofer” – in the center of the park lies The Met Cloisters, a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which features one of the world’s finest collections of medieval art.

Fort Tryon Park Conservancy - The Fort Tryon Park Conservancy’s mission is to restore, preserve, and enhance this historic and scenic landmark for the benefit and use of the surrounding community and all New Yorkers and visitors.
