About Us Volunteer

Fort Tryon Park’s volunteers are invaluable.

Thank you for your interest in supporting Fort Tryon Park. Volunteers serve an important role in helping steward our 67 acres and in keeping them vital and dynamic!

Spend some time with us.

You’ll perform an instrumental service. We welcome individuals and groups to join scheduled volunteer events such as our Sunday Stewardship Days and Broadway Beautification Days. You can work alongside our gardeners, gain horticultural knowledge, and meet other volunteers. Please see our Calendar of Events for upcoming opportunities.

Please note: Volunteers under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Groups of five or more must RSVP two weeks in advance for a volunteer event by emailing info@forttryonparktrust.org to ensure adequate tools and staffing. The Heather Garden is a historic garden which requires specialized training to work in. Prospective volunteers should submit their horticultural background to info@forttryonparktrust.org and will be interviewed by the Director of Horticulture.

Fort Tryon Park Conservancy - The Fort Tryon Park Conservancy’s mission is to restore, preserve, and enhance this historic and scenic landmark for the benefit and use of the surrounding community and all New Yorkers and visitors.

Fort Tryon Park Trust is now Fort Tryon Park Conservancy

We’re excited to introduce our new name across our website and email communications. Our new website is currently under construction — stay tuned for updates!
