Save the Elms Matching Funds Deadline

June 1, 2022

Event Navigation

Grow the Giving to Fort Tryon Park’s Ecological Assets! Make a gift and have it grow, thanks to a $15k matching challenge grant from a generous donor! Some of the park’s majestic 4-dozen elms are over 100 years old. We must inoculate them against Dutch elm disease every other year to protect the park’s ecology, beauty, and shade. If lost, it would take 100 years to recover the canopy.

The Fort Tryon Park Trust pays for the $55k treatment program for historic trees through grants and donations. (NYC Parks funds the protection of younger elm trees.)

Help us meet the match by June 1! Donate HERE.
