Dominican Day Parade 2026
Sunday, August 9, 2026 | 12:00 PM
Celebrate Dominican pride, culture, and community at the annual Dominican Day Parade, the largest Dominican celebration in the United States!
Founded in Washington Heights and rooted in the vibrant Dominican community of Upper Manhattan, this spectacular summer tradition brings more than 400,000 people together each year. The parade begins at 12:00 PM along Sixth Avenue (Avenue of the Americas), marching from 37th Street to 55th Street in a dazzling display of music, dance, and national pride. While smaller celebrations take place in the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn on other dates, this Manhattan parade is the largest and most iconic.
Dominican Day in New York commemorates the anniversary of the 1863 Restoration War, marking the Dominican Republic’s fight for independence from Spain. It is also a celebration of the enduring contributions of Dominican Americans to the cultural, civic, and economic life of New York City and the United States.
Dominicans are the fastest-growing Latino group in New York City, and this annual celebration reflects the energy, resilience, and influence of a community that continues to shape the city’s cultural landscape.
We invite neighbors, families, and visitors to experience this joyful celebration of heritage and unity. Come early, bring your flags, and be ready to dance!
