Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a journey into Northern Manhattan’s remarkable Revolutionary War history. Join the Urban Park Rangers on Saturday, July 4, from 10:00–11:30 a.m. for Historic New York: Northern Manhattan and the American Revolution, a guided walk through Fort Tryon Park that explores the area’s pivotal role in the nation’s fight for independence.

Led by expert Urban Park Rangers, this free program will uncover the people, places, and events that shaped both New York City and the American Revolution. Participants will visit historic sites throughout Fort Tryon Park and learn about the battles and military movements that made Northern Manhattan a strategic landscape during the war.

The walk begins at Margaret Corbin Circle and offers a unique opportunity to commemorate Independence Day by experiencing the history beneath your feet. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply looking for a meaningful way to celebrate the holiday, this engaging tour provides a fascinating look at one of Manhattan’s most historic neighborhoods!
