Spring 2017 Park Improvements – The Grand Staircase

Funding has been received and NYC Parks has begun the renovation of the Grand (Fieldhouse) Staircase. This $1.3M restoration project will reconstruct the bluestone staircase with its 100+ steps and install a railing and new lighting. All stairs and landings will be restored, facilitating improved access from Broadway up to The Met Cloisters. Construction is expected to be complete next spring, weather permitting.
