SUMMARY:Dog Run Re-Opens!
DESCRIPTION:After 20 years of community stewardship\, and no City Capital funding\, our dog run needed critical repairs so it can continue to be a usable park asset. Thanks to $100k from the Fort Tryon Park Trust and community donations\, a private contractor used heavy equipment to extract silt\, replace fencing\, and stabilize the slope. We had help from the amazing NYC Parks staff\, too! \nThe run was closed for construction for a few weeks\, to ensure the safety of park users and dogs – but is re-opening TODAY! \nTo get project updates and an invite to the ribbon cutting\, sign up at info@FortTryonParkTrust.org

The Fort Tryon Park Trust must hire a contractor to stabilize the ground at the run and do erosion control. SUMMARY:Dog Run Stewardship Day
DESCRIPTION:Help care for Manhattan’s largest dog run by painting\, removing invasive plants\, and doing general upkeep to make the dog run area welcoming and safe for Fort Tryon Park’s dogs and their owners. Gloves and tools will be provided by the Fort Tryon Park Trust and the project will be managed by the park’s horticulture staff. Bring a water bottle and wear a face mask at your discretion. Come to find out what’s happening in the run. We will be painting picnic tables and weeding. The park needs TLC from its community and we appreciate helping hands.
